Job summary

HealthDrive is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist to service patients in Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding Minnesota communities.

You will have the flexibility to set your schedule while HealthDrive handles billing, scheduling, and administrative support.

Qualifications

• Optometry background with ability to diagnose and manage eye conditions.
• Ability to work independently and deliver patient‑centered care.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exams, diagnose and manage ocular conditions and injuries.
• Perform vision testing and prescribe spectacle lenses as appropriate.
• Complete patient and clinical documentation in the EMR.
• Apply proper coding and billing for services rendered.
• Follow OSHA guidelines for patient care and equipment sanitation.

Our providers enjoy the flexibility to choose their schedule while we handle billing, scheduling, and administrative support. With an established patient base and strong operational support, you can focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Part-Time Optometrists can earn $40,000+ annually working just 2 days per week.

$2,000 Sign-On Bonus available for providers committing to a 2-day schedule.

Responsibilities

Role Overview for Optometrist:

• Conduct comprehensive exams, diagnose, treat and manage age-related ocular diseases, injuries and disorders of the eye.
• Traditional daily patient care will also include vision testing and prescribing spectacle lenses.
• Complete required patient and clinical documentation in our optometry electronic medical record system.
• Responsible for applying proper coding guidelines and populating appropriate billing codes for services provided to patients.
• Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment.

Qualifications

• Optometry background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of eye conditions and disorders.
• Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to use EMR, text, email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
• Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.

Physical Requirements for Optometrist:

• Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
• Ability to transport optometry equipment (maximum of 15 lbs.).
• May be occasionally required to transport patients in wheelchairs.

Education & Qualifications:

• O.D.
• Current State professional license.
• Valid driver’s license.

Travel:

This is a mobile position. Daily travel is based on the patient care requirements for the specified service area; your Practice. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive significant distances on occasion is required.
