Job summary

TeamVision West Covina is seeking a Full-Time Optometric Technician to ensure patients receive the highest quality eye care during exams. You will support the doctor, manage patient records, and help maintain exam flow and patient comfort in a fast-paced setting.

You will perform tests such as visual acuity, depth and color perception, and retinal imaging, assist with contact lens care, handle scheduling and POS tasks, and uphold HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.).
• Coaching skills and strong communication.
• Ability to address priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, managing records and patient flow.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist in vision examinations (acuity, depth/color, retinal imaging).
• Handles scheduling, POS operations, and maintains HIPAA-compliant records.
• Maintains equipment and supports the Optometrist as needed.
• Works weekends and evenings per location requirements.
