Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors with basic testing and patient prep in a clinical setting. The role involves operating optical equipment and delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience.

The ideal candidate has medical office experience, strong customer service, and the ability to follow HIPAA guidelines. A high school diploma is required; weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients or equivalent education/experience.
• Favorable result on background check as required by state.
• Must provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients and deliver Total Patient Experience.
• Comply with policies including HIPAA.
• Manage testing workflow and schedule to respect patient and doctor time.
• Operate ophthalmic equipment (lensometer, autorefractor, retinal camera, visual fields, OCT).
• Follow testing scripts and capture accurate patient data.
• Clean and maintain examination equipment and work area.
• Interact courteously with all staff and patients at all times.
• Support general office duties as assigned by manager.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
