Job summary

Pearle Vision Collegeville is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team in Collegeville, PA. You will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care alongside our optometrists in a welcoming, professional environment.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary testing, assisting during exams, documenting histories, and educating patients on lens care, with opportunities to grow in a supportive retail-clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an optometric technician or ophthalmic assistant preferred.
• Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and pre-testing procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical and retail environment.
• Basic computer proficiency; experience with EHR or practice management software a plus.
• COA or CPOT certification is a bonus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and autorefraction.
• Assist the optometrist during comprehensive eye exams and patient consultations.
• Collect and accurately document patient medical and ocular history.
• Educate patients on contact lens care, insertion, and removal techniques.
• Manage frame and lens selection assistance, supporting optical dispensing as needed.
• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked.
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and provide outstanding front-desk support.
