Job summary

AEG Vision seeks an Optometric Technician to assist Optometrists in patient care and education. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a high-quality experience.

Role requires familiarity with eye care terminology, HIPAA compliance, and strong teamwork. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement options, with a full-time schedule in Abilene, TX.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.
• Experience maintaining patient records per HIPAA.
• Industry certifications in eye care (CPO/CPOA/CPOT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam (dilate, topicals, tests).
• Schedule referrals and manage documentation.
• Record and maintain patient files in EHR; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Support doctors with testing and patient education.
• Handle post-exam tasks and appointment scheduling to optimize flow.
