Job summary

National Vision is hiring an Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant for America's Best. You will support the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing, helping ensure smooth patient flow in a fast-paced optical setting.

Full-time role focuses on high-quality patient care, accurate documentation, and maintaining a professional environment in-store. Training is provided and Sundays are off when the store is closed.

Qualifications

• Retail/optical experience preferred but not required.
• Able to learn optical terminology and procedures.
• Clear instruction and customer service skills.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information for special needs; consult with the optician, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
• Ensure equipment, both Doctor’s and pre-test, is properly maintained.
