Job summary

America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant to support pre-screenings and testing prior to the Doctor's examination in a part-time role.

The position does not require optical experience or certification; training is provided, and Sundays are off. You will help maintain a professional patient flow and contribute to a welcoming eye care experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Retail/optical experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Explain to patients the types of preliminary examinations.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully; identify special needs.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor's office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examination types to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Promote retinal screenings and visual field testing.
• Review prescriptions and patient information for special needs and coordinate with staff.
• Ensure proper maintenance of Doctor's and pre-test equipment.
