As an Optometric Technician for MyEyeDr., you play an essential role by providing direct support to our Doctors of Optometry in preparing patients for their visits, including preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience? No problem! You will be provided with training and tools needed to learn about an industry that delivers our patients a best-in-class experience to help them see and live their best lives. Join our team today and help provide the highest quality vision care to our patients. This role reports to the Office General Manager but will directly support our Doctors. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

You Will

  1. Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prepare for the optometrist exam.
  2. Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the doctor and other office staff throughout appointments.
  3. Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will be exposed to during their appointment.
  4. Learn to use all pretest equipment to perform visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
  5. Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
  6. Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide a seamless patient experience.

About You

  1. High School Diploma/GED with basic math skills.
  2. Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening processes.
  3. Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the optometrist.
  4. Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services.
  5. Team player committed to providing the best patient experience.
  6. Prior healthcare/medical/optical background is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
