Job summary

Vision Associates of Prospect is seeking an Optometric Technician I to join our Prospect, CT practice. You will support optometrists with pre-screening, tests, patient education, and follow-up to ensure a seamless visit.

You’ll gather patient histories, verify benefits, train patients on contact lens use, and help schedule appointments while maintaining smooth clinic flow. Ideal candidates have 1+ year in customer service and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience, optometric experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Team-oriented and eager to learn new skills.
• Detail-focused with accurate documentation of patient exams.
• Flexible with changing schedules and proactive teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists in pre-screening to post-exam follow-up.
• Perform diagnostic tests, gather patient histories, and educate patients about vision benefits.
• Guide patients in contact lens training, insurance verification, and scheduling visits.
• Coordinate appointments and manage office communications.
• Work closely with the team to meet individual and collective goals for patient care.
