Job summary

The role includes patient work-up, pretesting, tonometry, and performing professional services under the OD’s guidance. As the liaison between patient and Optometrist, you inform the OD of essential information; strong knowledge of pretesting equipment and clear communication with patients and clinicians are essential to support accurate eye exams and

Qualifications

• Deep working knowledge of all pretesting equipment is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the optometrist(s).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expert ability in communicating with patients the purpose of each test and its importance to their eye health
• Stock and maintain all exam rooms with all necessary supplies
• Perform I&R and contact lens instruction, answering patient questions regarding contact lenses.
• Tracks and orders supply inventory (alcohol pads, eye drops, FI strips, etc.) as appropriate.
• Communicate with our patients around all pre and special testing in layman's terms.
• Accurately measure and record all patient information with attention to testing details.
• Work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and patients.
• Maintain consistency of completing several technical tasks.
• Team player – support all aspects of the practice and patient experience.
