Job summary

Central Oregon Eyecare in Prineville is seeking an Optometric Technician I to support optometrists with pre-screening, exams, and patient education. Training will occur in Redmond & Bend, and travel to nearby offices is required.

You will perform diagnostic tests, manage patient flow, assist with contact lens training, insurance verification, and scheduling, contributing to a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in customer service (optometric experience preferred but not required!)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate and connect with patients
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities—you’ll be multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a passion for self-improvement and a desire to learn new skills
  • Detail-focused and capable of documenting patient exams and procedures with accuracy
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules as needed and a proactive attitude toward team success
