Job summary

Lake Oswego Vision Clinic & Eyewear Gallery in Lake Oswego, OR is seeking an Optometric Technician I to assist optometrists, perform pre-screening and patient education, and ensure a seamless patient experience.

You will gather patient medical histories, help with contact lens training, verify insurance, and schedule visits while coordinating workflow with the team for optimal care and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in customer service, optometric experience preferred but not required.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist optometrists in delivering outstanding patient care, from pre-screening to post-exam follow-up
• Perform diagnostic tests, gather patient medical histories, and assist in educating patients about their vision benefits
• Guide patients in contact lens training, insurance verification, and scheduling their next visit
• Ensure smooth patient flow by coordinating appointments and managing office communications
• Work closely with your team to meet individual and collective goals for optimal patient care and satisfaction

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ year of experience in customer service (optometric experience preferred but not required!)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate and connect with patients
• Strong organizational and time management abilities—you’ll be multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with a passion for self-improvement and a desire to learn new skills
• Detail-focused and capable of documenting patient exams and procedures with accuracy
• Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules as needed and a proactive attitude toward team success
