Job summary

Adventure Dental, Vision and Orthodontics in Aurora, CO seeks an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and help with eyewear fittings. This role reports to the Lead Optometric Assistant and offers a structured path in a pediatric-focused vision practice.

The position emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and proficiency with EHR systems, with a pay range of $16.50–$22/hour plus bonus opportunities. Full-time, on-site in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a vision practice is preferred.
• Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks.
• Proficiency in EHR systems.
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.
• Preferred knowledge of Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of office processes, including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection, and documentation.
• Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recalls.
• Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing patient, performing initial pre-tests, and recording results.
• Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glasses.
• Perform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and administer dilation drops.
• Help patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
• Process patient payments during check-in and check-out.
• Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc.
• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
