Job summary

MyEyeDr. is hiring an Optometric Technician in McKinney, TX to support doctors by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary testing and measurements, and delivering a best-in-class patient experience.

No optical experience is required as training is provided; some weekend and evening shifts are expected. You will learn to use pretest equipment, conduct visual screenings, and train patients in contact lens care while collaborating with the optometry team to ensure smooth patient flow

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with the ability to understand basic math.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening processes.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will be exposed to during the appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings before the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide a seamless patient experience.
