Job summary

Midwest Eye Consultants in Kokomo, IN seeks a Scribe to support physicians during patient exams by transcribing data into the EHR and aiding the clinical team. No experience is required as trainers will support you as you learn the role.

The position covers clerical and clinical tasks, including obtaining patient histories, scheduling, testing, and preparing exam rooms. Growth opportunities through company-paid certification are available.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in optometry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter information into the EHR during patient exams as dictated by the doctor.
• Assist optometrist/ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Escort patients to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor’s recommendations.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for patients and staff.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by leadership.
• Supple tasks may include pre-exam patient preparation, basic tests, history collection, and recalls.
