Job summary

Midwest Eye Consultants is seeking a Medical Scribe to support eyecare physicians in the clinic. The Scribe transcribes data into the EHR during patient exams and assists technicians, helping streamline doctor time.

No experience? Training provided. High school diploma required; optometry experience preferred. On-site role with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401k, and a certification program to advance your career.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in optometry preferred.
• Proficient with EHR systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into EHR during exams as dictated by the doctor.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Escort the patient to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor’s recommendations.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and manage patient flow throughout the office; communicate delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for patients and staff.
• Perform other duties as determined by leadership.
