Allen Eyecare Center in Allen, TX is seeking a Full-Time Optometric Assistant / Technician to support doctors and the patient care team. You will engage with patients through testing, education, and exam preparation in a fast-paced clinic.

This role combines hands-on clinical work with patient interaction, offering opportunities for skill growth in an established practice serving Allen, TX since 1985.

Qualifications

• Experience in optometry/ophthalmology/medical assisting/or healthcare is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Detail-oriented and dependable.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing including autorefraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, visual acuity testing, and visual fields.
• Accurately document medical history, medications, and patient information in the EHR.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist doctors during clinic flow.
• Educate patients on treatments, testing, and follow-up care.
• Clean, maintain, and sanitize clinical equipment and exam rooms.
• Support efficient patient flow in a busy optometry clinic.
• Assist with contact lens training and patient education as needed.
