Job summary

Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable Optometric Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks across our Frisco, McKinney, Garland and Mesquite clinics. The role includes helping with exams, patient check-in, and keeping records up to date.

Saturdays are required, with shifts typically 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma (Medical Assistant preferred) and strong customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Medical Assistant certification (preferred, not required)
• Prior medical/optometry office experience (preferred; training provided)
• Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Clinical Duties: Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment
• Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity)
• Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care
• Assist doctors during exams and maintain accurate EHR records
• Monitor and restock clinical supplies
• Administrative Duties: Greet and assist patients at check-in
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
• Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming
