Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and submit pertinent medical and ocular history into the EMR.
• Assist onsite doctors with patient care and eye examinations, clearly explaining the preliminary testing process and accurately documenting results.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through the remote eye exam process, including pre-testing and documenting results.
• After exam, transition patients to a retail associate, conveying the doctor’s recommendations.
• Pre-authorize insurance per standard operating procedures.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books, including contacting no-shows and cancellations.
• Maintain patient flow to support doctor effectiveness.
• Answer patients’ clinical questions and triage ocular emergencies.
