Job description

Role: Front Desk/Optometric Assistant, responsible for both administrative and clinical duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the front desk by answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying patient benefits, checking in/out patients, and confirming appointments.
  • Handle patient records, collect payments, and assist with patient pre-tests such as case history, tonometry, autorefractor, and visual acuity assessments.
  • Perform diagnostic services like retinal photography, OCT, topography, and visual field tests as ordered by the doctor.
  • Assist with contact lens fittings, instruct new wearers, and support the doctor during exams.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and properly equipped, and review contact lens agreements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency with computer programs and patient management software.
  • Ability to perform basic math and optical calculations.
  • Good reasoning skills to follow instructions and solve problems.
  • Educational background of an associate’s degree or relevant experience preferred.
