Job summary

KLA in Ann Arbor, MI, invites highly motivated graduate students to join our Opto-Mechanical Internship program this summer. You will work on engineering tasks to develop opto-mechanical sub-assemblies for our inspection tools, collaborating with engineers across optics, electrical, and computer science.

You will design, model, and document optical systems, use CAD and optical ray-tracing packages, and perform hands-on setup and alignment in a laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Optics, Mechanical Engineering or related field with immigration authorization to undertake corporate internship projects.
• The successful candidate should have taken classes in optics and have knowledge of opto-mechanical fundamentals.
• Experience with Zemax and CREO is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work to develop opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA’s inspection tools.
• Design, model and document optical systems.
