Job summary

KLA in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking high-energy optical interns to work on cutting-edge semiconductor inspection tools. You will design and evaluate optical sub-assemblies and help advance our precision systems in a collaborative setting.

You will design, model and document optical systems, collaborate with EE, opto-mechanical engineering and CS teams, and use Zemax for ray tracing. Hands-on lab setup is included.

Qualifications

• Taken classes in optical engineering and lens design.
• Fundamental knowledge of ray-tracing programs; Zemax a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and document optical systems for semiconductor inspection.
• Collaborate with electrical, opto-mechanical engineering and computer science teams.
• Use Zemax and other industry-standard software for ray-tracing.
• Hands-on set-up and alignment of opto-mechanical sub-assemblies in a lab environment.
