Job summary

KLA is seeking high-energy interns for the summer in Ann Arbor, Michigan to learn about best-in-class industrial equipment for the semiconductor industry. You will perform engineering work to develop opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA's inspection tools and work within a team of engineers on a larger project.

The role involves designing, modeling and documenting optical systems, collaborating with electrical, optical and computer science engineers, and using CAD and ray-tracing tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in graduate optics or ME program
• Knowledge of opto-mechanical fundamentals
• Experience with Zemax and CREO is a plus
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication
• Ability to work collaboratively across geographies

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work to develop opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA's inspection tools
• Work in a team with other interns and engineers on a specific aspect of a larger project
• Design, model and document optical systems
• Collaborate with engineers from electrical, optical and computer science fields
• Use CAD and optical ray-tracing packages; set up and align opto-mechanical sub-assemblies in a lab environment
