Job summary

TTM Technologies, Inc. seeks an Opto-Mechanical Engineer to develop precision optical/mechanical assemblies for millimeter-scale components.

You will design fixture tooling, perform tolerance analyses, and optimize assembly processes for high-volume manufacturing, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to ensure optical performance. Your work includes alignment characterization, incoming inspection protocols, and documenting specifications and test procedures for component qualification

Qualifications

• B.S. in Optical/Mechanical Engineering with optics coursework.
• 3-10 years hands-on opto-mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience assembling and aligning millimeter-scale opto-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design module-scale optical fixtures and alignment tooling.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses across mechanical and optical domains.
• Develop and optimize passive alignment assembly processes.
• Collaborate with vendors on manufacturability and first article inspection.
• Characterize alignment distributions with beam profiling or interferometry.
• Develop incoming inspection protocols for precision optics.
• Prepare engineering specifications and SOPs.
• Support prototype builds and optical performance characterization.
