Job summary

Bright Silicon Technologies seeks a mechanical engineer with hands-on optomechanical design experience to own key assemblies in the OCTANE terminal. You will model thermal behavior to ensure stable alignment across operating conditions.

You will select optical components with the team, apply design-for-manufacturability, and perform tolerance analyses while integrating assemblies into the system. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Optomechanical/Optical Engineering, Physics or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience; industry or research counted.
• Experience designing precision optomechanical systems with stable alignment.
• Familiarity with optical components, coatings, alignment methods, and free-space optics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop precision optomechanical mounts and assemblies for OCTANE terminal.
• Model thermal behavior and its effect on optical alignment across operating conditions.
• Source and select optical components with optical team and suppliers to meet performance and environmental requirements.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and apply design-for-manufacturability principles.
• Integrate assemblies into the terminal and troubleshoot subsystem interfaces.
• Create engineering drawings, assembly/alignment procedures, and technical docs.
