Job summary

KLA is seeking a research/engineering professional in Ann Arbor, MI to design mechanical and optomechanical subsystems for advanced image sensor calibration systems. You will drive the full design lifecycle, perform simulations, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.

Responsibilities include detailed design, testing, and documentation, with emphasis on precision, optics, and sensor integration within a cutting‑edge semiconductor fabrication

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including precision design.
• Knowledge of optics, lasers and sensors.
• Ability to generate conceptual and detailed mechanical designs.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and optomechanical parts and subsystems for advanced image sensor calibration systems.
• Drive complete design process: requirements, concept, design, testing, BOM, scheduling.
• Perform calculations and simulations to verify functionality of parts and mechanisms.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement design best practices meeting SEMI standards and cost targets.
• Conduct thermal, vibration and FEA analyses; create prototypes and handoff to manufacturing.
• Coordinate with Systems and Manufacturing Engineers for integration and tests.
• Develop assembly and test procedures.
