Job summary

MKS is seeking an Opto/Mechanical Technician to assemble optical systems in a clean room environment in Irvine, CA. You will audit kits, prepare subassemblies, follow drawings, and test assemblies across multiple stages with precision instrumentation.

The role requires 0-3 years of related experience depending on level, English fluency, and familiarity with Excel data templates. A discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered along with training and growth opportunities at MKS.

Responsibilities

• Audit 1-2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers.
• Prepare subassembly components.
• Follow written procedures or drawings.
• Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components.
• Test each level of assembly (4-5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments.
• Alignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.
• Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed).
• Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer).

A Day In The Life at MKS:

As an Opto/Mechanical Technician at MKS, you will be responsible for the assembly of optical systems.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Audit 1-2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers
• Prepare subassembly components
• Follow written procedures or drawings
• Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components
• Test each level of assembly (4-5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments
• Alignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.
• Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed)
• Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer)

Skills You Bring:

• 0-2 years of related experience for Level 1
• 2-3 years of related experience for Level 2
• The ability to work in a clean room environment

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $17.02 - 31.56 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
