About Agora

Agora is working towards a new paradigm for group collaboration by creating tools for communities to work together onchain. This is not yet another productivity SaaS. We are focused on building the best end-to-end governance platform for crypto protocols, facilitating at-scale onchain collaboration. Leading communities like Optimism, ENS, Uniswap, and others rely on Agora for coordination on protocol upgrades, ecosystem funding, and stewardship. Our goal is to develop collaboration tools for broader audiences, so that even those unfamiliar with crypto will use Agora seamlessly.

What you'll do

You will work directly with our co-founder and a staff engineer on the Optimism roadmap. Key focus areas include:

• The Optimism Governance app
• The OP Retro Funding app
• The OP Governance API

What we are looking for

• 6+ years of experience in production software development
• 3+ years with front-end frameworks like React, Next.js, Remix, or similar
• Strong TypeScript skills
• Deep understanding of Ethereum architecture and familiarity with L2 solutions
• Ability to read Solidity code
• Experience with indexers (e.g., Subgraph, Shovel, Ponder)
• Strong CS fundamentals, especially in scalable, maintainable systems
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, collaborative code
• Enthusiasm for Optimism
• Ready to start contributing on day one

Nice to Haves

• Contributions to the Optimism/Superchain ecosystem
• Open-source project experience
• Crypto application design expertise
• Experience with EAS, IPFS, Farcaster
• Experience improving infrastructure via design systems and contributor-friendly tools
