Moxtek in Utah (Orem) seeks an R&D Engineering Technician II to support semiconductor and optical NPIs. The role operates with moderate autonomy to run experiments (DOEs), troubleshoot equipment, and manage wet and dry chemical processes, including sol-gel work for sub-100nm pitches.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a STEM discipline or equivalent military/industrial training.
• 2–5 years hands-on experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication cleanroom.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, qualify, and handle hazardous wet chemistries for sub-100nm pitch applications.
• Operate lithography and alignment systems; run wet/dry etch recipes with minimal supervision.
• Manage cleanroom floor independently during off-shift hours and document handovers.
• Perform advanced metrology using various measurement and inspection tools.
• Run DOEs for thin-film sol-gel chemistry qualification based on engineering plans.
• Diagnose and resolve minor equipment hardware issues such as wafer clamping on non-standard substrates.
• Other relevant duties as assigned
