Job summary
Rochester Precision Optics, LLC in West Henrietta, NY is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead the Quality Engineering team and advance manufacturing quality across optics fabrication, coating, and assembly. You will drive process improvements, sponsor CAPA programs, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and program management.
The role requires 7+ years in quality within manufacturing, GD&T expertise, and Lean/Six Sigma proficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Experience leading Quality Engineers and supporting precision optics.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, metrology, and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Quality Engineering team with coaching and feedback.
- Guide quality improvements across fabrication, coating, assembly, and inspection.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to boost yields and reduce COPQ.
- Develop inspection strategies, control plans, and quality documentation.
- Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and statistics.
- Support new product introductions with quality plans and design reviews.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and CAPA effectiveness.
