Job summary

Sydor Optics, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive operational excellence across the manufacturing process in our Rochester, NY facility.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and service teams to ensure the highest quality standards and effective corrective actions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quality systems, GD&T, and measurement tools, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or equivalent technical field.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the effectiveness of the Quality function.
• Develop quality and inspection plans and monitor manufacturing process performance.
• Establish quality metrics and oversee inspection data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Lead initiatives focused on operational excellence, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and control quality documentation.
• Facilitate corrective and preventive action activities.
• Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to establish quality standards for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
• Coordinate resolution of technical and quality-related issues with internal teams.
• Provide investigative support for customer complaints.
• Conduct technical discussions with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns.
• Release inspection reports and related documentation ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
• Prepare quality system manuals and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
• Conduct and support internal and external audits as needed.
• Interpret engineering drawing, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
