Job summary

Lumentum Operations LLC is seeking a Prod Tech 2 in San Jose to perform assembly, testing, and documentation for optical components. You will operate production equipment, follow quality processes, and maintain a clean, safe workstation to support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2–4 years in a manufacturing setting, and proficiency with precision tools. Shift 6pm–6am with differential pay and a competitive total compensation package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or production, preferably optics/electronics.
• Able to read technical drawings and use precision tools such as microscopes and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated assembly of optical components and modules per instructions and specifications.
• Conduct in-process and final testing of products using specified equipment.
• Operate production equipment, including calibration.
• Document production activities and test data accurately.
• Identify and report defects, anomalies, and equipment malfunctions to supervision or engineering.
