Job summary

Xcimer Energy seeks an experienced Optics Manufacturing Engineer for our Denver headquarters to optimize production of optical assemblies, vessels, diagnostics, and potentially lenses and mirrors. You will translate designs into hardware, improve lines, and ensure quality, through work instruction authoring, training, coaching, and hands-on build support.

Responsibilities include driving process improvements, developing procedures, and supporting procurement and safety.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering or work equivalent.
• 8+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience in an R&D environment.
• Develop clear manufacturing work instructions covering fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration processes.
• Strong management skills in quality control, build sequence optimization, and schedule adherence.
• Engineering drawing reviews and final approval for manufacturing.
• Root-cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing principles, including GD&T.
• Proficiency with CAD (Siemens NX), scheduling software, issue tracking, Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide DFM/A input to eliminate or simplify processes and tooling.
• Translate intent and drawings into functional hardware ready for test and use.
• Create and modify work instructions and routings for technicians and material planning.
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes; reduce costs and optimize build sequences.
• Provide hands-on assembly oversight and assistance to technicians.
• Define and support repair and rework procedures; disposition NCRs as delegated.
• Handle procurement for hardware, tools, and facility equipment.
• Maintain operation of equipment and systems; manage hardware configuration and pedigree.
• Validate safety procedures with engineers and safety personnel.
• Coach and mentor junior manufacturing engineers and technicians.
