Reynolds Community College is seeking an Opticianry Skills Laboratory Assistant to provide in-person support for the Opticianry Program laboratories, clinical, and instructional spaces. This is a part-time hourly position without state benefits. Wage employees are restricted to working approximately 29 hours per week or less, not to exceed 1,500 hours annually.

The Opticianry Skills Laboratory Assistant provides in-person support for the operation of the Opticianry Program laboratories, clinical, and instructional spaces. This position is responsible for preparing clinical activities, assembling, disassembly, and distribution of skills kits for distance-learning students, routine maintenance of optical equipment, laboratory and clinical inventory management, supporting faculty and students during laboratory sessions, and ensuring a safe, organized, and effective learning environment. The position requires regular on‑campus attendance to support hands‑on instruction, laboratory and clinical operations, and the preparation of materials for students enrolled in both face‑to‑face and distance education courses.

This is a restricted position that is dependent upon funding. The availability of funding is scheduled to end on June 30, 2029, but may be extended based on the continuation of funding. Continued employment is contingent upon funding availability.
