Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring for an Optical Associate to dispense spectacles and assist patients under optometrist prescriptions. You will advise on lenses and frames, including style, weight, and color, while delivering exceptional member service.

The role involves measurements, Rx verification, and collaboration with the Optical Manager to ensure accurate transactions and timely order progression, with a strong focus on HIPAA compliance and member satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Experience in retail or optical environments preferred.
• Open shift availability for full-time positions.

Responsibilities

• Verify order data entry and ensure Rx accuracy against doctor orders.
• Deliver sales and member service in person and by phone, explaining exam procedures.
• Take measurements and assist in frame selection based on Rx power.
• Notify product readiness and progress orders in the system; handle payments.
• Educate patients on available products to meet visual needs and sales goals.
• Assist in scheduling eye exam appointments and entering patient history.
• Perform eye health tests and retinal imaging as part of eye care.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy policies; support adjustments and repairs of eyeglasses.
