Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Optical Associate to dispense spectacles and related products, interpreting prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. You will advise on lens choices, frame styles, and ensure accurate order processing within the store’s optical department.

The role emphasizes member service and accuracy in every transaction. Responsibilities include measuring, explaining exam fees, and assisting with eye health tests and patient history.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
• High school diploma, college degree, and/or wholesale/retail/optical experience is preferred.
• Open shift availability required for full time positions.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Verifies Rx data and completes order filing in the store system.
• Delivers sales by providing excellent Member service in person and over the phone.
• Takes measurements and ensures correct frame selection for Rx power.
• Educates patients on available products and emphasizes benefits for their vision.
• Assist in scheduling eye exams and entering patient history into systems.
• Maintain privacy and HIPAA compliance in all interactions.
