Ophthalmology Associates in Des Peres, MO, seeks an Optician to dispense glasses and contacts, assist patients with frame choices, verify insurance, and support doctors and managers. The role emphasizes accurate measurements and exceptional patient care in a busy practice.

The position is full-time, with standard hours and occasional earlier/later shifts. Prior ophthalmic experience is preferred; a high school diploma is required and ABO/ABOC credentials may be pursued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a medical office preferred; ophthalmic experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms and documents.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote frames and lenses prescribed by doctors to meet patient needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and ensure proper measurements.
• Operate lenses measurement tools and dispense orders in system.
• Verify insurance coverage and communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and comply with policies.
