Job summary

Dr. Tavel Optical Group in New Castle, IN is hiring an Optician. You don’t need optical experience to get started; we’ll teach you. Bring curiosity and a willingness to learn—we’ll handle the rest.

This role involves guiding patients in selecting eyewear, educating on lens options, managing front-desk tasks, processing orders, and making minor repairs. Training is provided; occasional travel to support other locations may occur.

Qualifications

• No optical experience required; we’ll train you.
• Strong people skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work during office hours (including some Saturdays).

Responsibilities

• Guide patients in selecting eyewear that fits their face and lifestyle.
• Educate patients on lens options and eyewear care.
• Verify insurance and manage scheduling and benefit authorizations.
• Place and process eyewear orders and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments for a proper fit.
• Build lasting relationships with patients and maintain high service levels.
• Complete training and certifications to support growth.
• Travel to support other locations if needed.
