Job summary

Dr. Tavel is looking for an Optician in Training to join our Indianapolis team. You’ll receive comprehensive training and a structured path to growth in a fast-paced optical environment.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour with full-time, non-exempt status and potential travel to other locations as needed. Training takes place at our corporate office in Indianapolis, with a two-week program and paid coaching. We value curiosity, commitment, and a strong desire to learn while delivering excellent

• Willingness to learn eyewear terminology, lens options, and patient service processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to accuracy in front-desk tasks and order processing.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients in selecting eyewear that fits their face and vision needs.
• Educate patients on lens options and eyewear care.
• Manage front-desk tasks: insurance verification, scheduling, and authorizations.
• Place and process eyewear orders and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments for proper fit.
• Build lasting patient relationships and support growth milestones.
