Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) seeks an Optician I to join our Optometry team. You will assist patients with selecting, fitting, and dispensing prescription eyewear while supporting daily optical operations and patient education.

The role includes inventory management, vision screenings, and HIPAA-compliant record keeping. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in an eye care setting, experience handling cash, and familiarity with EHR.

Qualificações

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in an eye care setting.
• Cash handling and patient payments experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EHR and patient confidentiality (HIPAA) required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist patients with selecting, fitting, and dispensing prescription eyewear and contact lenses.
• Interpret eyewear prescriptions and educate patients on wear, care, and adaptation.
• Coordinate eyewear orders and notify patients when ready.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR.
• Manage optical inventory of frames, lenses, contacts, and supplies.
• Perform routine vision screenings and assist with retinal imaging as needed.
• Process patient payments, reconcile invoices, and prepare deposits.
• Support patient registration, check-in/out, and timely responses to calls.

Formação

High school diploma or GED

ABO certification (preferred)

NOCE certification (preferred)

Paraoptometric certification (preferred)
