Job summary

All About Eyes Mattoon is hiring an Optician to help customers find the best frames and lenses for their lifestyle and to make professional recommendations that improve vision. You'll join a team that values service, patient experience, and a path to leadership.

Starting base pay is $17/hr with commission and bonuses that can add $3–$9/hr, making total earnings potential $20–$26/hr. No optical experience required; we'll train you into a new profession.

• Some of our strongest opticians came to us from selling phones, jewelry, cosmetics, shoes, furniture, or appliances — or from waiting tables and running a front desk. If you know how to read a customer, ask the right questions, recommend with confidence, and hit a number, you already have the hardest part of this job. We'll train you into a profession.

Responsibilities

• Answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Verifying insurance benefits and calculating patient responsibility
• Selecting and ordering eyewear for patients
• Making small repairs and adjustments to eyeglasses
• Delivering a best-in-business patient experience from start to finish
• Supporting your team by communicating effectively and working toward shared goals
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation
