Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a licensed optician to dispense spectacles and optical products in a fast-paced store setting. You’ll work with prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists, advising on lenses, frames, and style choices while ensuring accuracy and patient privacy.

Responsibilities include taking precise measurements, explaining exam fees, and updating order statuses. The role emphasizes superior member service, accuracy, and teamwork in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to work as an optician in the state and keep license up to date.
• Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and an attention to detail required.
• Open shift availability required for full time positions.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Verify Rx data entry and ensure accuracy in the store system.
• Explain procedures included under the exam fee to patients.
• Take measurements and ensure correct frame selection for Rx power.
• Read prescriptions on the lensometer and update order status promptly.
• Provide excellent member service to drive sales and satisfaction.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and confidential information at all times.
• Assist with eyeglass adjustments and repairs; support opening/closing tasks.
