Job summary

Venture Optical Management is seeking an experienced Optician to support patients and practice partners by providing accurate eyewear selections and efficient service. You will interpret prescriptions, measure, adjust frames, and prepare orders with care, ensuring quality and style alignment for each patient.

The role emphasizes excellent patient service, knowledge of lenses and coatings, and safe, HIPAA-compliant operations within our team-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Certification in optical dispensing or related training.
  • Excellent attention to detail when interpreting prescriptions and checking lenses.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical information to customers.
  • Familiarity with optical products and frame/lens options.
  • Ability to work well in a team with clinicians and staff.
  • Knowledge of licensing/CE requirements per state.
  • Strong sales ability and patient-service focus.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret eye prescriptions and advise on frame weights, materials, styles and colors.
  • Measure customers and adjust frames for proper fit.
  • Prepare glasses and contact lens orders with correct prescriptions and lens specs.
  • Ensure orders are processed accurately and HIPAA-compliant handling of patient data.
  • Provide exceptional patient service and address concerns with professionalism.
  • Maintain inventory of frames and optical supplies and support inventory control.

Creating Outstanding Patient Experience:
  • Interpreting the results of eye examinations, using prescriptions written by Optometrists and/or Ophthalmologists
  • Advising patients on frame weights, materials, styles and colors
  • Recommending lenses, coatings and frames to suit customers’ needs
  • Measuring customers to determine suitable types and styles of frames
  • Adjusting frames so they fit properly
  • Preparing orders for glasses and contact lenses by checking prescriptions, lens thickness and other specifications
  • Making sure that orders for glasses and contact lenses have been processed accurately
  • Committed to providing quality health and eye care for all patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Handles customer concerns with highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Always represents themselves to the highest level of professionalism in both speech and presentation
  • Ability to listen closely to patients wants, needs and concerns. Able to explain options, instructions and solutions clearly for patients.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of optical tools to make final adjustments and repairs to eyeglasses
  • Interpreting and explaining patient’s vision insurance benefits
  • Maintaining inventory of frames and other optical supplies
Creating Outstanding Practice Experience:
  • Perform business tasks, such as maintaining sales records compliantly to HIPAA requirements
  • Working with the Doctors and practice staff to ensure the best patient experience through effective communication
  • Sharing their knowledge and skills with colleagues, improving the performance of the practice team overall and ensuring high quality care
  • Exhibiting highest level of professionalism and teamwork with practice staff
  • Responsible for the business aspect of the optical, comfortable making decisions and has a strong knowledge of sales and inventory management.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Training and/or certification in optical dispensing and/or fitting contact lens

  • Follow all state and federal regulations regarding licensing and CE’s
