Job Title: Optician

Department: Optical

Reports to: Optical Manager

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through the frame or contact selection process.
• Operate manual lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients.
• Educate patients about eyewear and contact lens options.
• Review eye glass prescriptions and orders based on medical chart and process orders accordingly.
• Perform eyeglass frame adjustments and repairs, ensuring proper alignment, comfortable fit, functional vision, and instruction on proper wear and care of eyeglasses.
• Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames.
• Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs and lifestyle preferences.
• Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones and monitoring inventory.
• Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety.
• Design and arrange product displays and create a welcoming patient environment.
• Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by the Executive team while attending to patients' specific needs and desires.
• Educate staff and providers about eyewear and contact lens options, and new product developments.
