Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is hiring an Optician to assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, take measurements, and educate on care. You will coordinate with labs, perform quality checks, and help ensure accurate fittings.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and comfortable use of Word/Excel; ABO/NCLE or LDO credentials are a plus. Monday–Friday schedule with training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's preferred.
• Optical experience preferred; willing to train.
• ABO and NCLE is a plus; required within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear; consults with prescribing physicians as needed.
• Takes optical measurements for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear and instructs on cleaning and handling.
• Makes repairs using appropriate parts and tools; maintains equipment.

Overview

As an Optician, customer service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating on proper eyeglass and contact lens care.
