Job summary

Venture Optical Management Inc in Florida is seeking a part-time Optician to support our mission of delivering outstanding patient experiences across multiple area locations.

Interpret prescriptions, advise on frames and lenses, prepare orders, and maintain inventory while ensuring HIPAA compliance and professional conduct.

This role requires optical dispensing knowledge; an optician license is not required. Shifts are 3 days per week from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities

Creating Outstanding Patient Experience:

• Interpreting the results of eye examinations, using prescriptions written by Optometrists and/or Ophthalmologists
• Advising patients on frame weights, materials, styles and colors
• Recommending lenses, coatings and frames to suit customers' needs
• Measuring customers to determine suitable types and styles of frames
• Adjusting frames so they fit properly
• Preparing orders for glasses and contact lenses by checking prescriptions, lens thickness and other specifications
• Making sure that orders for glasses and contact lenses have been processed accurately
• Committed to providing quality health and eye care for all patients in a timely and efficient manner.
• Handles customer concerns with highest level of integrity and professionalism
• Always represents themselves to the highest level of professionalism in both speech and presentation
• Ability to listen closely to patients wants, needs and concerns. Able to explain options, instructions and solutions clearly for patients.
• Have a strong working knowledge of optical tools to make final adjustments and repairs to eyeglasses
• Interpreting and explaining patient’s vision insurance benefits
• Maintaining inventory of frames and other optical supplies

• Working with the Doctors and practice staff to ensure the best patient experience through effective communication

Requirements

This is a part-time position that will require work 3 days per week from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

You also will be expected to work at multiple area locations depending on business needs.

Candidates must have previous optical experience.

An optician license is not required.
