Bellaire Family Eye Care is seeking a dedicated optician for its optical department. The successful candidate will assist patients in selecting eyewear, fit glasses for comfort, and verify insurance details as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years’ minimum experience in an optometric/ophthalmology practice as an optician.
• Ability to dispense and fit eyeglasses for diverse patients (pediatrics & seniors).
• Educate patients on lens options and eye health.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual a plus.
• Team-oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.

Bellaire Family Eye Care is growing! We are a privately owned, six-doctor optometry practice dedicated to providing exceptional eye care and optical services. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic optician for our optical department. We are focused on providing outstanding patient experiences in a supportive, energetic workplace.

Job Overview

In this role, you will assist patients with selecting eyewear, fitting and dispensing their choices and verifying insurance information as needed. The right candidate must be comfortable educating our patients on higher end frame and lens products while providing superior patient service.

What You Bring To This Position

• Two years’ minimum experience preferred working in a fast paced optometric or ophthalmology practice as an optician
• Ability to dispense and fit eyeglasses ensuring proper fit and comfort for a variety of patients including pediatrics and seniors.
• Educate patients on lens options, proper lens care and eye health
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written), bilingual a plus
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment, functioning for the good of the team over the individual
• Superior patient service skills to exceed the needs of our patients
• Experience with Crystal PM or a similar electronic medical record system
