Langham Recruitment is assisting a global optical communications company in the Bay Area seeking a Customer Support Engineer to assist North American customers with next-generation optical transceivers for datacentre and telecom networks. The role combines technical troubleshooting, customer engagement and product evaluation, working with customers and international R&D teams across high-speed optical connectivity.

On-site in Bay Area, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optics or a related field.
• Knowledge of optical communications, transceivers or high-speed networking.
• Experience with Ethernet, I²C/MDIO, PRBS/BERT testing or optical measurement equipment is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer-facing skills.
• Comfortable working independently with international engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for optical transceivers spanning 100G, 400G, 800G, 1.6T and beyond.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and coordinate with engineering teams to identify and resolve problems.
• Support product evaluations, demonstrations and interoperability testing with switches, routers and servers.
• Work with customers and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Develop technical documentation, application notes and troubleshooting guides.
• Gather customer feedback and support product improvements.
• Occasionally assist with on-site customer support and industry events.
