Job summary

Coherent is seeking an experienced engineer to perform electrical, optical, thermal, and timing measurements on optical transceivers and to draft specification compliance reports. The role includes new PCBA design work, RF simulations, and debugging transceiver issues.

You will create drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and collaborate with PMs, buyers, and suppliers to ensure timely part availability. Qualification includes a BS in EE with 2+ years experience; MS preferred and PhD a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience required.
• MS degree preferred; PhD a plus for advanced design work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical, optical, thermal, and timing measurements of optical transceiver.
• Create optical transceiver specification compliance reports.
• Design or revise PCBA for the optical transceiver.
• Run RF simulations of high-speed signal links.
• Debug and troubleshoot transceiver issues and work independently.
• Create drawings, BOMS, and ECOs; coordinate with PM, buyers, and suppliers
• Support resolution of DFM issues from engineering and factory feedback
• Assist design reviews for EVT/DVT phases
