Job summary

Vuzix Corporation seeks an experienced optical test and characterization leader to oversee the characterization and test lab for near-eye systems and imaging technologies.

The role requires developing new test procedures, maintaining documentation, and ensuring ISO 9001:2015 alignment while collaborating with customers and vendors to drive product quality from R&D through production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
• 10+ years of detailed experience in a research or product design environment.
• Familiarity with optical test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Experience with Zemax software.

Responsibilities

• Characterize and test micro-displays, projector systems, optical subsystems, and complete near-eye systems.
• Develop and implement new test methods and procedures to support research, development, quality assurance, and production needs.
• Create and maintain detailed test documentation, procedures, and organized test data records.
• Collaborate with QA and Production to establish and calibrate inspection procedures and in-process validation methods.
• Identify, procure, set up, and maintain test and measurement equipment.
• Analyze test results and develop corrective actions for product and process concerns.
